The Indian captain, Rohit Sharma accompanied the chief of selectors, Ajit Agarkar at a press conference to announce squads for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as India looks to regain the title after a loss in the last edition’s final.
India heads into the tournament where they will play at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai, instead of travelling to the host country, Pakistan, due to security concerns.
India’s pace bowling spearhead, Jasprit Bumrah who suffered a back spasm during the final Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy has been named in the squad while he is rested for the ODIs against England in the lead up to the tournament.

India has managed to maintain the core of the team that played the home World Cup in 2023 where they finished as runner-ups with Rohit Sharma leading the pack while someone like Yashasvi Jaiswal has received his maiden ODI call-up.
Mohammad Shami has also returned to the ODI side after being sidelined due to an injury for over a year and Arshdeep Singh has also made the cut.
Harshit Rana will join the Indian team for the England ODI series, however, is not named in the Champions Trophy squad. Bumrah’s availability will determine the final spot.
