Team India is set to host Australia in a four-match Test series slated to commence on February 9 followed by a three-match ODI series. The red-ball series forms a part of the ICC World Test Championship 2021 – 2023 cycle but the ODI series is not a part of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup Super League cycle.

Prior to the clash between the two countries, the BCCI announced that this will be the last edition of the Border Gavaskar Trophy that will feature four Test matches. After the conclusion of the forthcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy both teams will lock horns in a five-match Test series instead of four. Both teams will need to be on their toes to obtain results in their favour considering that the matches come thick and fast as per the India vs Australia Schedule.

The red-ball series between the two sides proves to be a crucial one as both teams are eyeing for spots in the World Test Championship 2021-23 summit clash. India recently registered a series win against Bangladesh whereas Australia are coming from back-to-back impressive series wins against England, the West Indies and South Africa.

Speaking about the head-to-head as per the IND vs AUS Stats, in 143 ODI outings the Aussies have a massive upper hand as they have won in 80 matches to India’s 53 and 10 games have yielded no result. Even in Test cricket, Australia have 43 wins whereas India have emerged victorious in 30 outings in 102 matches with 28 matches yielding draws and one resulting in a tie.
